This study is designed to explore how direct marketing can cause impulsive gambling. Participants reported that they were overwhelmed by the number of direct marketing they received, both from known and unknown gambling companies. For example, the turnover requirements related to bonuses and free credit decreased, while certain participants were offered special arrangements, such as receiving a fixed percentage of their losses during a certain period.
